Born and raised in Colorado, attended Colorado State University and received all three of her degrees from CSU. Her dissertation focused on How Students Experience Their Christian Faith in the Public High School. She has worked in the Thompson School District as a high school counselor at Thompson Valley High School for 17 years. In addition to her full-time role as a high school counselor, she is an adjunct professor at the University of Northern Colorado and teaches in their counselor education program on the Greeley, Denver, and Colorado Spring campuses. She is married and has three children. She enjoys Crossfit, scrapbooking, reading, camping, and spending time with her family and Bella her Rottweiler. She attends 23rd Avenue Church in Greeley.
